Anya Anti is an internationally published and award-winning photo artist who specializes in on-location fine art and conceptual female portraiture. Originally from Ukraine, now based in New York, USA.
Anya's been into photography since 2010. She's always been a creative person – as a child I was good at painting and crafts. As her passion for art grew she fell in love with photography and started shooting the world around her. Having no art background, no access to professional education in her country, lack of teaching experts or tutorials, no mentors or friends among photographers she had to learn everything by herself. With the power of passion and determination, she gained all my knowledge and inspiration through social media and online photography communities. By trial and error and analyzing other photographers’ work she was able to learn and improve.
In 2010 after graduating National Metallurgical Academy of Ukraine Anya had no interest in engineering and material science. She realized that photography is not just a hobby and passion but can be a real profession and a lifetime career.
A year later, she started creating fine art conceptual and surrealistic female portraits, which became her preferable genre and a hallmark of her work. She began teaching and traveling with workshops in Ukraine and Russia.
In 2014 she moved to the United States to pursue her dreams of becoming a professional fine art photographer and started her life from scratch.
Photography is the perfect medium of self-expression through storytelling. Anya strives to create beyond traditional portraiture and to tell imaginative stories through her art. She constructs dreamlike sets that rely on beauty, symbolism, metaphors, and associations to convey fantasy, whimsy, and intangible ideas. Her art is a reflection of her deepest emotions, passion for beauty, and craving for everyday enchantment. She never just takes a photo but uses photography as a way of collecting material to create something that is not possible to capture. Her creative process includes scouting locations, creating elaborate installations, costumes, and digital photo manipulation, to bring her imagination to life and create fantastical stories through her art.
As a workshop instructor and speaker, she has already taught in the US and Europe. She worked with different brands such as Broncolor, Wacom, Adobe, Nikon and presented at big conferences such as Adobe MAX, Adobe Live, Photo Plus Expo, CES, WPPI, etc. She has showcased her work at exhibitions and has been published all around the globe.
If you listen carefully her silent pictures will tell a story.
